Days 65bis - a review of Conkers camp site

We spent two nights as a stop over between Kent and Wigan on the Camping and Caravanning site in the middle of the National Forest - Conkers

The campsite itself was relatively small, compared to other CCC sites we’ve visited, and because it was now mid-September, we were almost the only family on site. Everyone was delighted to have the onsite play area to themselves – with swings and a great climbing area. We had specifically asked for a pitch with a direct view of the play area, so that we could all relax and enjoy ourselves, we all enjoyed it!

We had also picked this site for its family shower room. This one was smaller than Canterbury, but had the advantage of a huge baby bath. Myriam was delighted, us adults less so, as the push button on the shower meant it was hard work to fill!  After 10 minutes her bath was finally full, but there wasn't much room left for the adult in question to take a shower..

The huge bonus at this site is that you are entititled to a free child per paying adult offer at the Conkers attraction next door - better than any offer we could find online. You need to ask reception to give you a receipt.

Positives - lovely natural play area on grass, small very friendly site. Loved the single sex showers/toilets - they were lovely and warm which was very welcome in mid-September.
Negatives - the family shower room could do with expansion/updating
